Despite the obligations and desires to minimize waste or re-use materials to avoid waste, generating waste is a natural part of business and recycling liquid wastes and hazardous wastes is unlikely to be a straightforward matter. However, where significant quantities of waste are produced, it may make sense to treat the waste at the place of production to minimize off-site disposal costs and to increase the opportunities for recycling.
